World Amateur Golfers Championship brought together for the 2023 edition nearly 50 countries and their teams in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The French amateur team led by their captain Gilles DUCHAMPS and Maxime HAUSS (Development Manager)) caused a sensation for its very first international participation.
Indeed, the team made up of five players from different backgrounds were able to bring the tricolor flag to the highest steps. Palmares? Two individual victories and a third place by team.

They come from all over France, from the golf courses of La Palmyre, La Prée, Raray, La Vanade and Royan.

Assessed across four categories

Courses, accommodation, amenities and setting – Verdura scored highly in each to amass an overall score of 90 points, with the resort singled out by the judging panel for the quality of its location and golf and lifestyle facilities.

Announcing its verdict, the Top 100 panel said: “There are not too many big moves from the 2020 list but moving four places in the top 10 is a significant one. It’s also very easy to explain.

"The East (Course)" is now better than either of the original courses and a certainty for a prominent slot in next year’s Continental Courses Top 100.

“Off the course, the quality has been constant. The food is peerless. The active can enjoy beach volleyball fencing and football with stars such as ex-Juventus striker David Trezeguet. The more indolent can laze by the infinity pool or be pampered in the spa. The icing on the cake is the achingly beautiful white-sand beach just yards from the heart of the resort.

Phillips spent three years reworking his magic at Verdura Resort, returning to the site of his original creation to upgrade the East and West courses, with a number of new features added and modifications made to the routing of both courses.

- Pro-Am:
36 Stroke-Play holes, 18 holes per day.

- Formula:
1 professional and 3 amateurs.
Addition of the 2 best balls in Net and Gross per hole.

- Amateur index:

ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF THE PAYMENT
Any registration not accompanied by the regulations places the team, the player (s) on the waiting list.

FFG 2022 LICENSE AND MEDICAL CERTIFICATE
Given the sporting aspect of the event, and no later than Tuesday August 4, 2022, it is imperative to meet the following requirements:
- Each amateur player must hold the FFG 2022 license and have registered with the FFG the medical certificate attesting to his ability to practice golf.
- Any foreign amateur player who does not have a license from the French Golf Federation 2022 must provide a medical certificate attesting to his ability to practice the golf activity.
- The non-presentation or non-registration with the FFG of the medical certificate attesting to his capacity to be able to practice the golf activity on August 4, 2022 entails non-participation in the tournament and the non-reimbursement in full of the registration.

PLAYER FORFEIT
Before July 27th, 2022, he will be reimbursed the entry fee less 450 Euro for administration fees. After July 27th, 2022, no reimbursement given the organization costs incurred.

ANNEX

- Local rules
The local rules of the course apply for the three rounds of the Pro-Am des Sources 2021. These will be available at the golf secretariat along with the scorecards.

- Teams of four united players
. The Pro-Am des Sources is played by teams of united players throughout the tournament (during the three days and the three rounds).
. To enter the classification, the four players of the same team (Pro and amateurs) must participate in the three days and the three rounds, ie 54 holes.
This amounts to saying that if one of the players for various reasons (eg schedule, family problem, injury, etc.) has to leave the tournament during the tournament, he cannot be replaced by another player.
. To enter the competition, and therefore the award ceremony, the team must continue without the absent player (s).
. If, for reasons specific to the team, the latter decides to replace the defaulting player, the team may play friendly but will be withdrawn from the prize-giving ceremony.

- Carts - Carts
Carts are provided as a priority on presentation of a medical certificate.
Hand and electric trolleys allowed.

- Doubt as to the procedure:
Applying rule 3.3, a player may play a second ball without penalty if he is in doubt of his rights and of the procedure to be followed. The facts will then be communicated to the event committee when they return their cards.

- In the event of bad weather or force majeure:
. Temporary suspension
At the sound signal immediate evacuation of the course with prohibition to finish the hole. (Local rules).
. Cancellation of one or more tours *
The final ranking will only retain the round (s) that have been played by all the players.
. Cancellation of the competition *
The prizes will be awarded by drawing lots during the closing cocktail at the Club House du Golf.
* No pecuniary compensation, reimbursement and / or other consideration will be made.

Although the general situation seems to be easing, we draw your attention to the sanitary conditions that are imposed in Switzerland and France so that there are no unpleasant surprises when crossing the border.
The respective authorities have taken binding measures to fight against this pandemic (COVID) in order to limit its effects on their territory.

- Carts - Trolleys
Carts are issued in priority on presentation of a medical certificate.
Professionals may not use carts under penalty of being penalised (except medical certificate).
Hand carts and electric carts allowed.

- Doubtful as to the procedure:
Application of rule 3.3, a player may play a second ball without penalty if he/she is in doubt about his/her rights and the procedure to follow. The facts will then be communicated to the event committee when they return their cards.

- In case of bad weather or force majeure:
. Temporary suspension
At the sound of the signal, immediate evacuation from the course with a ban on finishing the hole (local rules).
. Cancellation of one or both rounds*.
The final ranking will only take into account the round(s) played by all players.
The daily prize money for the cancelled round will be carried over to the next round.
. Cancellation of the competition
The prize-giving will be done by drawing lots at the Club House Saint Donat.
* There will be no monetary compensation, reimbursement and/or other consideration.

PAYMENT OF THE REGULATION
Any registration not accompanied by the payment places the team, the player or players on the waiting list.

FFG 2022 LICENCE AND MEDICAL CERTIFICATE
In view of the sporting aspect of the event, and by Thursday 13 October 2022 at the latest, it is imperative that the following requirements are met:
- Each amateur player must hold a FFG 2022 licence and have registered with the FFG the medical certificate attesting to his or her ability to practice golf.
- Any foreign amateur player who does not hold a FFG 2022 licence must provide a medical certificate attesting to his or her ability to practice golf.
- Failure to present or register with the FFG the medical certificate attesting to his ability to practice golf by October 13, 2022 will result in non-participation in the tournament and non-refund of the full registration fee.

PLAYER DECLARING WITHDRAWAL
Before 3 October 2022, the entry fee will be refunded minus 600 Euro for administration costs. After 3 October 2022, no refund will be given due to the organisational costs incurred.
