Pol-Am Cannes 2026: A Second Edition at Royal Mougins

Following the success of the inaugural event, Patrick Drevon, a Royal Mougins member and manager of Golf Méditerranée, is once again bringing together police officer friends and colleagues on September 24 and 25 for the second edition of Pol-Am Cannes 2026, an event defined by sport and camaraderie.
For this edition, 18 teams, each comprising one police officer and three friends, will gather in the exceptional setting of Royal Mougins on Thursday the 24th. Traveling from Cannes, Monaco, Marseille, and Paris, participants will fully enjoy the high-quality course and its magnificent fairways and greens, all within a warm, sporting atmosphere.
Beyond the joy of the game, Pol-Am Cannes serves to strengthen bonds among participants through their shared passion for golf. The competition features both team rankings and an individual ranking exclusively for police officers, allowing the day's top performers to be rewarded.
Camaraderie continues after the competition with a grand prize draw offering some wonderful surprises.
Prizes include several exceptional getaways: Lunchs and greeenfees in Royal Mougins, a stay in a Balinese-style lodge at Bamboo Lodges, a golf weekend at the Valberg resort, and a magnificent trip to a Lagoon Villas in the Maldives.

A touch of the Ryder Cup...

No sooner had the final putts been played at the Pol-Am Cannes than a new battle loomed on the fairways of Royal Mougins for Friday the 25th! Ten police officers extended the adventure, gathering for a second competition humorously dubbed the "Ryder Cop"!
The two winners of the Pol-Am (Gross and Net) took on the role of captains, taking turns to select their teammates. It was a format inspired by the legendary Ryder Cup, featuring plenty of strategy, suspense, and, above all, good spirits.
At the end of this new day of competition, the Red Team triumphed over the Blue Team (3 points to 2) to lift the trophy, bringing a fantastic conclusion to two days of exceptional golf.
This second edition reaffirms the spirit of Pol-Am Cannes: bringing together the police community, friends, and golf enthusiasts for a day in the prestigious yet welcoming setting of the Royal Mougins Golf Resort.

Before looking ahead to a third edition, Patrick Drevon wished to thank all the partners and sponsors who made the event possible, as well as the Royal Mougins staff, led by General Manager Jurgen Wondergem, for providing 5-star service throughout the two days. "Top marks" to the Pro Shop, the Caddy Master, and their coordinator Théo Merceron; a "Huge Round of Applause" to Greenkeeper Paul Goettelmann’s team for the exceptional course maintenance despite the challenges posed by this summer’s drought; and a "Premium" rating for the dining service led by Lahcen Naït and chefs Maxime and Ricardo for the magnificent, lavish lunch buffet.

Plans are already in place for the 2027 edition.

Tribute & Solidarity

To bring this inaugural event to a close, Patrick Drevon wanted to end the day with a powerful symbolic gesture, noting that all too often, we gather for a minute of silence to remember colleagues who have passed away...
He invited serving police officers to come forward and introduce themselves, then asked all the other players to applaud them for their daily work in ensuring our peace and safety.
However, he was keen to emphasize that this tribute was not just for the National Police, but also for their colleagues in the National Gendarmerie, municipal police forces, the military, and the fire service.

The Cannes Pol-Am 2026 will once again take place on the magnificent Royal Mougins course, which so masterfully hosted the inaugural edition on September 26, 2025.

2026 promises to be another successful year. In 2025, 21 teams participated, totaling a field of 84 players.

For the second edition, we hope to attract many teams again, but not exceed 25.

RYDER COP: Blue Team vs Red Team

Player Selection for the Formation of the Two Teams
During the Police ranking following the POL-AM, two Captains will be appointed: the first-place finisher based on Gross Score, and the first-place finisher based on Net Score.
The Captain based on Gross Score is the captain of the Blue Team, and the Captain based on Net Score is the captain of the Red Team.
The Captain of the Blue Team first chooses one of their teammates, then the Captain of the Red Team, and so on.

Depending on the number of players present, the format will be either teams of two or individual.

Any registration not accompanied by payment will place the team on the waiting list.

FFG LICENSE 2026
- Each amateur player must hold a FFG 2026 license or the equivalent for any foreign player.
PLAYER WITHDRAWING
Before September 1, 2026, the player will be refunded the registration fee minus €150 for administrative costs. After September 1, 2026, no refund will be issued due to the organizational costs already incurred.

ANNEXES

1. LOCAL RULES
The local rules of the course apply. These will be available at the golf club office along with the scorecards.

2. COURSE INDEX
The round will be played with a maximum of 18 strokes allowed.

3. PRIZE-GIVING
The gross score takes precedence over the net score.
The presence of winning teams is mandatory to receive prizes at the final prize-giving ceremony. Only those present at the prize-giving ceremony will be eligible to win the prize from the raffle.

4. IN CASE OF A TIE IN THE FINAL GROSS OR NET RESULT
The tiebreaker will be determined by the last 3, then 6, and finally 9 holes.
5. LOCAL RULES
The local rules of the course apply. These will be available at the golf club office along with the scorecards.

2/ Cancellation of the competition*
Prizes will be awarded by random draw during lunch at the Golf Clubhouse.

New Year’s Cup Royal Mougins 2024

Last tournament of the year, scramble 2, at Royal Mougins with the New Year's Cup 2024.
Congratulations to the entire Royal Mougins team for this magnificent moment offered for December 30, 2024. From the course to the perfect quality, to the warm welcome of the Proshop with an endowment of several thousand euros (drive, golf bags, branded jackets, etc.) and to the restaurant which took care of its guests by offering oysters, mussels, scallops, raclette, hot chestnuts, apple fritters, etc., all were unanimous among the 90 players.

Opio Valbonne Golf Club Open Day recruitment
On October 21, 2024, golf d'Opio Valbonne Château la Bégude was mobilized for a first as part of a staff recruitment.
Thomas BENASSAYAG, General Manager of the site for a year*, and his team welcomed around a hundred candidates interested in the various golf professions such as golf and hotel reception, catering or gardening on the golf course.
This action was set up in partnership with Pascale PUIG, Local Director of Grasse of France Travail.
Everything came together to make this recruitment day a success: good weather, a dream location and a very warm welcome.
Summoned by the Mission Locale and France Travail, the candidates were grouped by interest and then guided by the staff to help them discover the tools of the profession that attract them.
A second part of the recruitment was proposed to allow candidates to change their career path and discover another professional horizon through immersive recruitment. (see video)
This day was positive for two candidates, one in catering and the other for golf reception.

A year ago, Thomas Benassayag joined the Opio-Valbonne Golf Resort as General Manager, with the mission of optimizing the Resort's experience and positioning it among the European leaders. Thomas Benassayag, General Manager Opio Valbonne Golf Resort

Graduate of the Ecole hôtelière de Strasbourg and the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne. Thomas has developed significant experience in operational management of luxury hotels in France and internationally as a catering director and hotel manager (France, China, United States for Sofitel and Mandarin Oriental).
Thomas strengthens his experience in consulting in strategy and international development, management, training, recruitment, sale and mergers and acquisitions in the luxury, hotel and gastronomy industry.
Then he was headhunted by the real estate sector to create a Hospitality department that meets the growing demand of high-end office buildings for "all-inclusive" solutions, with a single contact and a user experience comparable to that of luxury hotels.
A distinguished golf player and a great enthusiast since a young age, his various missions led him to manage two golf establishments: the Château de la Bégude and Al Maaden in Marrakech.

Masters of Champions 2024 Saint Tropez - Sainte Maxime. Bernard BEGUIN, 4 times French Rally Champion, winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in GTX, current LMP2, has just organized his 27th edition of the Masters of Champions.
Like a special of which he has the secret, he invited his World, Olympic and national champions to rally from October 18 to 20 the two emblematic cities of the Gulf of Saint Tropez: Saint-Tropez and Sainte Maxime. There of course it was not about time but golf and pétanque. For 3 days, Bernard BEGUIN invited you to come and approach the champions, your champions either in full swing, or shooting or pointing.

For golf, the splendid golf Bluegreen Sainte Maxime and Stéphane HASSLER, golf director, welcomed Bernard BEGUIN and his guests on October 18 around 1 p.m. and October 20 around 9 a.m., for the two rounds of the golf competition.

October 19: golf and pétanque. An approach competition on the Golf Up course in Grimaud in the late morning and in the afternoon, a pétanque competition on the Place des Lices in Saint Tropez.
