Valberg Golf Club

The emerald of the southern Alps

Perched at an altitude of 1,700 meters in the Valberg resort, the Valberg Golf Club is a unique course in the Alpes-Maritimes. Located at the gateway to the Mercantour National Park, this mountain golf course offers a rare experience in France: playing golf at altitude, in a spectacular natural setting, surrounded by Alpine peaks and 360° panoramic views. One of the Valberg Golf Club's major assets is its environment. From the course, players enjoy a spectacular 360° panorama of Mont Mounier, the Mercantour massif, and the surrounding Alpine peaks. This high-mountain location creates a playing experience completely different from coastal golf courses: the air is fresher, the light purer, and the surrounding silence very soothing. In summer, golf becomes a true oasis of coolness, much appreciated when temperatures soar on the French Riviera. The Valberg Golf Club is considered a course that is both technical and accessible.

The main challenges are the significant elevation changes, managing trajectories at altitude, the sometimes fast and undulating greens, and the mountain winds that can affect the balls. However, the course remains suitable for all levels thanks to its shorter distances, its teaching layout, and its comprehensive practice areas. The Valberg Golf Club is open only from May to October, depending on weather conditions. This seasonality makes it a quintessential summer golf course. It is a very popular destination for mountain holidays, nature getaways, golf lessons, and sports training. The club also offers introductory courses and individual lessons led by professionals. Between sport, nature, and summer coolness, it provides a unique alternative to the Mediterranean golf courses of the French Riviera.
